Community High School District 128 takes pride in providing quality educational opportunities for all students, as reflected in the district's mission statement. Each school’s course offerings (VHHS and LHS) are designed to provide a comprehensive and challenging curriculum to meet the needs of all students. In addition to academic and teaching standards developed by the Illinois State Board of Education, research-based standards have been created by district personnel and serve to shape practice in the areas of school leadership, teaching and learning, and technology.
School improvement planning takes place at the building and district level. During the 2006-2007 school year, each school is beginning a new cycle of school improvement. The focus of this first year is to collect data on student achievement and develop building and department goals. Each school improvement plan will support the District Strategic Plan that was established in the spring of 2006.
